Our parent company, Presagia, contributed an article to each issue of last year's @Work Magazine, a publication by the Disability Management Employer Coalition (DMEC). If you haven't had a chance to check out this excellent resource, we highly recommend that you do! DMEC provides best practice resources for our complex industry and @Work is one of their resources that we always stay on top of!

The 2021 column, Leave Management By The Numbers, dives right into — you guessed it — the numbers! This year we're taking a look at which leave reports provide meaningful insight for different employers, sharing the trends they identified, as well as their efficiency gains.

As we did with last year's Absence & Accommodation Technology series, we've created this blog series to share each of our 2021 columns with you!  To kick it off, here's our January article, which discusses the types of reports employers can use to draw meaningful conclusions and how employers can report on the usage of specific policies. This article will set the stage for upcoming articles, which will profile the leave reporting journeys of employers from various industries.

How AtlantiCare Controls Leave And Supports Employee Satisfaction: New Presagia Success Story

Posted by Rebecca Scott on Apr 15, 2021 2:20:50 PM

AtlantiCare is a regional health system with more than 6,000 employees and with over 100 locations that serves the healthcare needs of southeastern New Jersey.  Their core mission is to make a difference in health and healing one person at a time, while paving the way for excellence across the region.

Previously, AtlantiCare was outsourcing their leave management, however, this approach wasn't fully meeting their employees' needs, was costly, and required a lot of extra time and attention from their leave team. AtlantiCare experiences a high volume of leaves given the pressure placed on their healthcare workers, who have extremely long hours and physically demanding jobs that lead to injuries, stress and burnout. They needed a system that would  provide real-time access to leave information to support decision-making, allow them to be more hands-on and spend less time on menial tasks.

Learn How LHC Leverages Their Leave Data: New Presagia Success Story

Posted by Rebecca Scott on Nov 17, 2020 12:02:33 PM

LHC Group is the leading provider of in-home health services in the United States, operating in 36 states across the nation. They have 780 locations and provide services for 350 leading hospitals, along with home and community-based services, hospice, and facility-based care.

Before, LHC was a using a leave system that wasn't cutting it. Their issue was the inability to mark an FMLA case as worker's compensation-related. They could only note if a leave was FMLA, limiting their recordkeeping and reporting capabilities. Given that they also experience such a high volume of leaves (which is no surprise in the healthcare industry), they needed a system that could handle it all while amending their tracking issues.

That's why a little over a year ago, LHC made the switch to our parent company- Presagia (Leave) and they've been thrilled with their decision ever since!

How To Create A More Holistic Absence Management Program

Posted by Shahlla Karmali on Sep 11, 2020 11:00:00 AM

As you may know, a wealth of absence management technology is available to help employers transform how they manage employees’ leaves and accommodations. This is a topic we’re very familiar with here at Leave Genius. In fact, our parent company, Presagia, is a regular contributor to the Disability Management Employer Coalition’s (DMEC) @Work Magazine on this topic. DMEC is the most focused industry group for the world of absence management, producing conferences, education, content, and more on best-practices to further how we manage employees’ leaves of absence and accommodations.

Presagia's 2019 @Work column, Technology & Absence Management, delved into the technology that can support a stronger, more holistic leave management and accommodation strategy. We’re excited to announce that these columns have been refreshed and revamped in Presagia's new whitepaper, Technology & Absence Management: Using Leave & Accommodation Software To Support Your Absence Program.
